Consider this: in making sense of your own life, you are doing the most helpful thing you can to ensure that your child will be not only securely attached, but will likely have a more integrated brain. It has become evident that secure attachment is related to a highly integrated prefrontal cortex. Therefore, the more you work to make sense of your life, the more likely your child will be able to make sense of his or hers. Let me encourage you to make sense of your life, and integrate the minds of those around you, not least your children.
